RBHS Strategic Plan Resources

Multiple resources were used in the planning and development of the RBHS strategic plan. More than 5,000 RBHS faculty, staff, and students participated in the process, with input provided by additional faculty and staff universitywide. Specific resources included:

  • Information collected by Chancellor Strom during his listening tour of all RBHS units in the fall, 2013
  • Analysis of data collected during the university strategic planning process
  • Collection and analysis of data from a survey distributed to RBHS faculty, staff, and students in January, 2014
  • Collection and analysis of data from a survey distributed to all Rutgers faculty in February, 2014
  • Information collected from meetings with Camden, New Brunswick, and Newark community members in the winter and spring, 2014
  • Information collected by Chancellor Strom during meetings with state and federal legislators in fiscal year 2014
  • Presentations delivered through The Future of US Health Delivery System Speaker Series in the winter and spring, 2014
  • RBHS leadership consultations with school deans and center/institute directors, clinical program directors, primary hospital leaders, potential hospital system leaders, RBHS faculty council, Rutgers Board of Trustees, Rutgers Board of Governors, the Board’s Health Affairs Committee, other Rutgers chancellors, and President Barchi throughout fiscal year 2014
  • Guidance and direction provided by the RBHS Strategic Plan Steering Committee in the winter and spring, 2014
  • Reports submitted by 32 Strategic Plan Working Groups, identifying existing strengths and weaknesses for potential signature programs, educational initiatives, and enabling structures in March and April, 2014

During the implementation of the RBHS strategic plan, which is ongoing through 2019, leaders of strategic planning initiatives will be asked to submit annual progress reports. These reports will be utilized by the RBHS Strategic Plan Steering Committee to assess progress and submit recommendations regarding future directions for ongoing initiatives and new initiatives.
